About Tony Mills

After a successful amateur career, winning both state and National titles, I served an apprenticeship at the Cottesloe Golf Club,WA, completing this in 1992 with the Australian Trainee title.

After 9 years on tour with moderate success, I decided to go into club golf under Ian Denny at Amstel G.C. as assistant pro. During this period I also conducted coaching at Bembridge golf course.

After three years I was offered a full time teaching roll at the Wembley Golf Complex in WA. Due to the Nature of the coaching afternoon and night time shifts, I was able to conduct Seminars and conferences on Rottnest Island Country Club, which is where I found admin and management was the direction I wanted to head.

In 2009 I won the Australian Club pro title at Sandhurst and due to a change of management at the Wembley golf complex decided to move on and look for positions back in Victoria closer to my family.

Fortune has it that Portsea Golf Club advertised for a Golf operations manager, which ticked all the boxes in my career path. The direction the golf industry is heading is that of the Portsea golf club and I am looking forward to being a part of it.

Sincerely
Tony Mills
